Description
We're seeking a talented and creative Kitchen Assistant to join our team, a renowned chocolatier dedicated to crafting exquisite, handcrafted chocolates. As a key member of our kitchen team, you'll assist our expert chocolatiers in the creation of unique and mouth-watering confections. Your artistic flair and attention to detail will help us push the boundaries of chocolate-making, as you work alongside our master chocolatiers to develop new and innovative flavors.
Responsibilities:
-Assist in the creation of new and innovative chocolate recipes, combining flavors and ingredients to craft unique and delicious confections
-Develop and refine flavor profiles, using your artistic skills to create visually appealing and balanced flavor combinations
-Collaborate with the head chocolatier to design and execute seasonal and limited-edition collections
-Assist in the preparation of chocolate-making equipment, including tempering machines, molding tools, and other specialized equipment
-Work closely with the production team to ensure efficient and precise production processes
-Participate in the quality control process, taste-testing and evaluating new products to ensure consistency and quality standards
-Develop and maintain relationships with local suppliers to source high-quality ingredients and materials
Requirements:
-2+ years of experience in a professional kitchen or candy-making environment
-Strong understanding of flavor profiles, ingredient pairing, and food chemistry
-Experience with artistic design and presentation techniques (e.g., decorating, painting, etc.)
-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and precision
-Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
-Familiarity with food safety and sanitation practices
-Basic knowledge of chocolate-making processes and techniques (training provided)
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience working with artisanal chocolate or other high-end confections
-Knowledge of cocoa beans, bean-to-bar chocolate making, or chocolate tempering
