Description
Role Summary:
A Hostess is responsible for creating a welcoming first impression, managing reservations and seating, and coordinating with the service team to ensure smooth guest flow and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
• Greet guests warmly and professionally as they arrive.
• Answer phone calls, take reservations, and manage the reservation book.
• Escort guests to their tables and present menus.
• Coordinate with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to ensure balanced seating and smooth operations.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the hostess stand / reception area.
• Monitor waiting lists and provide estimated wait times during busy periods.
• Handle guest complaints professionally or escalate as needed.
• Stay informed about the daily menu, specials, and restaurant promotions so you can answer guest questions.
• Assist with other front-of-house tasks when required (e.g., light food service, helping servers).
• Ensure the host area is ready before opening and maintain grooming standards.
Qualifications/Skills:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Professional appearance; ability to stand for long periods.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Fluent in Arabic and good English (verbal and written).
