Description

We are looking for an experienced and proactive General Foreman to oversee daily site operations, manpower management, and coordination of preliminary site activities. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in construction site supervision, and a solid understanding of safety protocols. The General Foreman will play a key role in ensuring efficient site setup, resource allocation, and smooth execution of project activities.

Key Responsibilities
Site Operations & Supervision

Supervise and monitor all site activities to ensure compliance with project plans, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Plan and coordinate daily site tasks, ensuring manpower, materials, and equipment are allocated effectively.

Oversee site preliminary works including layout preparation, site clearing, fencing, temporary access roads, and utility arrangements.

Manage the setup of temporary site facilities such as site offices, storage areas, toilets, welfare units, workshops, and temporary power/water connections.

Ensure proper housekeeping and workflow efficiency across the site.

Manpower Management

Manage and control all site manpower including laborers, tradesmen, operators, and foremen.

Prepare daily manpower allocations based on work priorities and project schedules.

Monitor worker productivity and ensure smooth coordination between different work teams.

Resolve on-site labor issues and maintain discipline and safety compliance.

Equipment & Vehicle Management

Oversee construction vehicles and equipment assigned to the project.

Ensure all vehicles and equipment undergo timely Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM).

Coordinate with the maintenance team or external service providers to handle repairs and breakdowns.

Maintain daily logs of vehicle/equipment usage and ensure safe operation at all times.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

Implement and enforce safety regulations in accordance with NEBOSH standards.

Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and ensure workers follow PPE requirements.

Identify and mitigate site hazards proactively.

Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe practices promptly.

Documentation & Coordination

Prepare daily site reports including manpower reports, progress updates, and equipment logs.

Assist the Site Engineer and Project Manager with resource planning and scheduling.

Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and third-party service providers for site needs.

Ensure all temporary installations comply with project requirements and safety standards.

Driving & Mobility

Utilize a valid driving license for site-related transportation, coordination, and supervision needs.

Inspect remote or distributed work areas across the project as required.

Minimum Requirements

Nationality: Indian

Age: 28 – 32 years

Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (Civil Engineering preferred)

Certification: NEBOSH Certification is mandatory

Experience: Experience in site supervision, manpower handling, and construction site setup

License: Valid driving license

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Knowledge of construction preliminary works and temporary facilities setup

Ability to manage manpower efficiently and handle site challenges proactively

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of construction safety standards and site regulations

Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines

Good command of English and Hindi (spoken & written)

Familiarity with construction equipment, vehicle management, and PPM schedules

Proficiency in MS Office and basic construction reporting tools
