We are seeking a highly skilled WordPress Developer with strong system administration capabilities to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing WordPress websites while also managing the underlying server infrastructure to ensure performance, security, and scalability.
This role requires a balance of front-end/back-end development skills and DevOps/system administration expertise, making it ideal for someone who can own the full web stack.

Key Responsibilities.

WordPress Development:

Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins.
Customize existing themes and plugins to meet business requirements.
Optimize website performance, UX/UI, and responsiveness across devices.
Implement integrations with third-party APIs, CRMs, and payment gateways.
Ensure websites follow SEO best practices and are optimized for speed.

System Administration & DevOps:

Manage web hosting environments (Linux-based servers, VPS, or cloud platforms).
Install, configure, and maintain web servers (Apache, Nginx).
Handle domain, DNS, SSL certificates, and CDN configurations.
Monitor server uptime, performance, and security.
Perform regular backups, restore procedures, and disaster recovery planning.
Implement deployment pipelines (CI/CD) for website updates.

Security & Performance

Harden WordPress installations and server environments against vulnerabilities.
Monitor and respond to security incidents, malware, and attacks.
Optimize database performance (MySQL/MariaDB).
Implement caching strategies (Redis, Memcached, Varnish, etc.).
Conduct performance audits and load testing.

Collaboration

Work closely with designers, project managers, and stakeholders.
Translate business needs into technical solutions.
Provide documentation and technical support when required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Skills

Strong experience with WordPress CMS, custom theme and plugin development.
Proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), jQuery.
Experience with MySQL/MariaDB databases.
Strong knowledge of Linux server administration.
Experience managing web servers (Apache/Nginx).
Familiarity with SSH, Git, and CLI tools.

Security & Optimization

Knowledge of WordPress security best practices.
Experience with performance tuning tools and techniques.
Familiarity with caching mechanisms and CDN services.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with WooCommerce development and optimization.
Knowledge of REST APIs and headless WordPress setups.
Experience with monitoring tools like New Relic, Grafana, or Prometheus.
Understanding of SEO technical best practices.
Relevant certifications (Linux, AWS, DevOps) are a plus.
