Job Overview:
The accountant will be responsible for handling daily accounting tasks, with a focus on job-specific financial tracking for fire and safety design, installation, service, and maintenance projects. The role involves ensuring that funds received for each project are allocated and spent accurately, maintaining job-specific accounts, reconciling financial records, and generating regular reports to support profitability and transparency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Job-Specific Financial Tracking:
Record income and expenses for each fire and safety project (design, installation, maintenance).
Maintain separate accounts for each job to ensure accurate financial management.
Track client payments and allocate them to the respective projects.
2. Daily Expense Management:
Monitor job-related expenses, including materials, labor, and operational costs.
Ensure that funds allocated for a project are used exclusively for its expenditures.
Handle petty cash and maintain accurate daily logs.
3. Daily Income Reporting:
Calculate and record daily income generated from services provided.
Ensure timely deposits of client payments and maintain updated cash flow records.
4. Reconciliation and Reporting:
Perform daily reconciliations of job-specific accounts.
Generate daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports on job performance.
Highlight job-specific variances and profitability analysis.
5. Budgeting and Cost Control:
Prepare micro-budgets for each fire and safety project to control costs.
Provide recommendations to reduce expenses without compromising safety standards.
6. Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure all financial records comply with local regulations.
Maintain organized documentation for each project, including receipts, invoices, and expense reports.
Assist in VAT filing and timely payments.
7. Communication and Coordination:
Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate budgeting and fund allocation.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for project-specific purchases.
Communicate with customers to ensure timely payment collections.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience in job-specific or project-based accounting in a service company.
Proficiency in accounting software (Zohobooks, Excel).
Knowledge of VAT and local compliance in Bahrain.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
