Description

An accountant's core responsibilities involve managing all financial transactions, from daily bookkeeping and reconciling accounts to preparing financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet) and tax returns, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial insights through budgeting, forecasting, and risk analysis to help businesses make informed decisions. They maintain accurate records, manage accounts payable/receivable, oversee payroll, conduct audits, and report on a company's financial health.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

Financial Recording & Reporting: Manage ledgers, process transactions, reconcile bank statements, and prepare balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
Tax Compliance: Compute taxes, prepare and file tax returns, and stay updated on current tax laws.
Auditing & Compliance: Inspect financial documents, ensure adherence to accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and regulations, and manage internal/external audits.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop budgets, forecast financial performance, and monitor adherence to budgets to control costs.
Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data, identify trends, assess risks, and provide recommendations for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
Accounts Management: Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
Strategic Support: Advise management on financial strategy, investments, and business plans.
