Description
The Auto Electrician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the electrical and electronic systems of vehicles, with a particular focus on electric golf carts.
The role includes work on batteries, wiring, controllers, lighting, and other electronic systems to ensure vehicles operate efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair electrical faults in vehicles, especially electric golf carts and light electric vehicles.
Inspect, maintain, and replace batteries, controllers, wiring, and electric motors.
Install and maintain lighting systems, relays, switches, and safety components.
Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve electrical issues.
Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and circuit schematics.
Perform routine electrical inspections and preventive maintenance.
Ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines and safety regulations.
Collaborate with mechanical technicians when integrated repairs are needed.
Document all work performed and maintain accurate service records.
Follow workshop safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
Requirements:
Diploma or Technical Certification in Auto Electrical, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 1 year of experience working specifically with electric golf carts.
Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems and EV components.
Ability to diagnose and repair wiring, battery, and motor systems.
Experience with 48V or 72V electric systems preferred.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical documents.
Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Basic knowledge of mechanical systems.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Valid driver’s license (preferred).
Transferable Iqama
Preferred Skills:
Experience with electric vehicle (EV) maintenance and safety protocols.
Familiarity with programmable controllers and motor diagnostics.
Basic computer skills for diagnostics and report entry.
