Description
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
Greet customers as they approach the cash register and provide a positive and friendly shopping experience.
Answer customer questions about products, promotions, and store policies.
Resolve customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.
Transaction Processing:
Operate the cash register to process sales transactions accurately.
Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and other forms of payment according to store procedures.
Issue receipts, refunds, or change as necessary.
Scan and bag items efficiently while ensuring that items are properly handled.
Sales Support:
Upsell or cross-sell products to customers as appropriate.
Assist with product restocking and maintaining a neat checkout area.
Promote loyalty programs, store promotions, and seasonal offers to customers.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels at the cash register and inform management of any stock shortages.
Help with inventory counts and stock replenishment when needed.
Safety & Cleanliness:
Ensure the cashier station is clean and organized.
Adhere to safety and health regulations, including cleanliness standards.
End-of-Day Procedures:
Balance the cash register at the end of each shift.
Report discrepancies in cash and credit card transactions to the supervisor or manager.
Prepare and process end-of-day paperwork, including cash deposits.
