Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Catering Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations for a large-scale catering service serving a labor company with 1,000 employees from Eastern Asia (India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal). The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of large-scale food service, and the ability to manage kitchen staff, inventory, and food costs efficiently, while providing culturally appropriate and diverse menus.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, organize, and oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure high-quality food service for 1,000 employees.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for food preparation, hygiene, and service.
• Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
• Design and implement diverse menus tailored to different Eastern Asian cuisines, ensuring each cultural group has meals suited to their tastes and dietary needs.
• Monitor and maintain accurate food inventory levels, ensuring proper storage and rotation to minimize waste.
• Work closely with the procurement team to forecast food cost estimates and maintain budgets.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Collaborate with management to improve kitchen processes, efficiency, and quality.
• Monitor food preparation standards, portion sizes, and presentation to meet company expectations.
• Resolve operational issues in the kitchen promptly and professionally.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in large-scale catering, preferably serving 500+ individuals daily.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen management, food safety, and large-scale food production.
• Experience in preparing diverse menus for multiple cultural groups is highly preferred.
• Proficient in inventory management and understanding food cost control.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to high-volume catering demands.
• Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with management and staff effectively.
Preferred:
• Culinary degree or relevant certification.
• Experience with industrial-scale kitchens or catering for labor forces.
