Job Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced Chief Accountant with a solid background in hotel operations to oversee our daily financial activities.
Based in the Khamis Mushait-Abha region, the successful candidate will manage all aspects of hotel accounting, including accounts receivable/payable, payroll, income audit, cash flow management, asset reconciliation, and tax compliance.
The ideal candidate must possess a deep understanding of hospitality-specific accounting systems, Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI) standards, and Saudi Arabian financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Operations
Manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including Income Audit, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Cashier, and Payroll.
Ensure all financial transactions are recorded in compliance with USALI (Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry) standards.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, asset tracking, and strict general ledger cleanups to support year-end external audits.
Oversee night audit reconciliations, food & beverage cost controls, and daily revenue reports.
Reporting & Compliance (Saudi Arabia)
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
Ensure absolute compliance with ZATCA (Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority) regulations, including accurate VAT filing, E-invoicing (Fatoora) compliance, and corporate tax/Zakat provisions.
Coordinate closely with external auditors to ensure smooth year-end closures and timely reconciliation of audit queries.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Saudi labor laws regarding GOSI, payroll processing via WPS (Wage Protection System), and Muqeem/Qiwa related financial transactions.
Budgeting & Cost Control
Assist the Finance Manager/Controller in preparing annual operating budgets and capital expenditure (CAPEX) plans.
Monitor hotel operational expenses against budgets, identify variances, and recommend cost-saving strategies to department heads.
Oversee internal control systems to safeguard hotel assets, cash flow, and inventory.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree (Graduate) in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Professional Qualifications:
Candidate must be an active SOCPA member (Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants).
Additional professional qualifications (such as CMA or ACCA) are a strong plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
Hotel industry experience is highly preferred. Please clearly highlight your hospitality background in your resume.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in hotel property management systems (such as Opera, Fidelio, or IDS), POS systems (e.g., Symphony/Micros), and corporate accounting software (such as Zoho Books, SAP, or Oracle).
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
Location & Joining: Ability to work on-site in the Khamis Mushait-Abha region. Candidates currently residing in Saudi Arabia with a transferable Iqama are highly preferred.
