Description
Key Responsibilities
Contract Lifecycle Management: Oversee the drafting, negotiation, execution, and closure of contracts (EPC, Procurement, Services) ensuring alignment with project goals.
Legal Compliance: Interpret and apply KSA contract laws (including the new Civil Transactions Law) to mitigate legal risks.
Negotiation: Lead commercial and contractual negotiations with clients, especially Saudi Aramco, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Claims Management: Proactively manage claims (Extension of Time, Variation Orders, cost recovery) against clients or partners due to defaults or delays. Defend against counterclaims.
Coordination: Work closely with project management, finance, and local legal counsel to resolve contractual disputes.
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements:
Legal Expertise: Deep understanding of Saudi contract law and familiarity with Saudi Aramco’s contract formats and standards.
Languages: Fluent in Arabic and English (both written and oral), with the ability to draft complex legal documents and conduct high-level negotiations.
Aramco Experience: Proven track record of dealing directly with Saudi Aramco; well-versed in their project management procedures (SAEP, etc.) and payment mechanisms.
Claims Experience: Demonstrated successful experience in contract claims (initiating claims against clients or partners for delays, variations, or defaults).
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Law, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
Professional certifications (CIPS, IACCM, PMI-CP, or RICS).
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Saudi Arabia.
