Description
Key Responsibilities:
Budgeting & Forecasting
Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts.
Collaborate with project managers and finance teams to align cost plans.
Cost Monitoring & Analysis
Monitor daily expenditures and compare them to the budget.
Analyze variances and provide explanations for over/under spending.
Reporting
Prepare regular cost reports, including variance analysis.
Present cost data to management and stakeholders.
Cost Control Processes
Implement and maintain cost control systems.
Review invoices, purchase orders, and contracts to ensure compliance with budgets.
Support Procurement & Planning
Work with procurement to evaluate cost-effective suppliers.
Assist in planning resource allocation based on cost data.
Project Control (if applicable)
Work closely with project teams to track cost performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide real-time cost information for decision-making.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Proficiency in cost control software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Primavera, Excel)
Attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and reporting skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
Professional certifications (preferred):
CMA (Certified Management Accountant)
PMP (Project Management Professional) – if project-related
ACCA, CPA (depending on location and industry)
