Job Purpose: The Data Privacy Consultant will support the organization in driving effective data privacy initiatives across all business units. The role involves leading privacy assessments, advising on data protection strategies, implementing best practices, and strengthening privacy frameworks. The consultant will collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, legal, and business teams to embed privacy principles into operations and projects while driving continuous improvement in privacy processes, policies, and controls.
Key Responsibilities:
•Manage and validate Records of Processing Activities (RoPA) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) for processes and systems, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
•Implement periodic reviews of RoPA, PIA, and PII classification to maintain ongoing compliance.
•Conduct and monitor PII data classification, anonymization, and related control validation across critical systems.
•Oversee third-party privacy and risk management, including vendor assessments, privacy risk tracking, Data Processing Agreement (DPA) review, and integration with enterprise risk frameworks.
•Define, monitor, and enhance personal data breach management processes, including incident reporting, SLAs, and mock drills.
•Manage employee and customer consent processes, ensuring proper documentation, tracking, and periodic effectiveness reviews.
•Develop, deliver, and monitor role-based data privacy training and awareness programs across the organization.
•Support privacy governance initiatives, including reporting, audits, and process improvements.
•Collaborate with IT, Cybersecurity, Legal, and business units to ensure privacy requirements are embedded in projects and operations.
•Provide guidance and recommendations to management on emerging privacy risks, compliance gaps, and best practices.
•Assist in the development and enhancement of privacy policies, standards, and procedures.
•Support continuous improvement initiatives for privacy automation, tools, and reporting.
Required Skills & Qualifications
•Strong knowledge of data privacy principles, frameworks, and regulations (e.g., PDPL, GDPR).
•Experience in privacy assessments, risk management, and compliance processes.
•Hands-on experience with privacy or GRC platforms and tools.
•Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
•Proficiency in Excel, reporting, and data analysis.
