Description

The Finance Manager/Director is a senior leader within the Finance & Accounting team at Serene Psychiatry Hospital, responsible for overseeing the hospital’s overall financial operations with a focus on integrity, transparency, and strategic alignment. This role is instrumental in supporting the hospital’s mission of delivering exceptional mental healthcare by providing accurate, timely, and insightful financial guidance to the executive leadership team.

Success in this position involves leading the preparation of financial reports, enforcing robust internal controls, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and tax requirements, and driving financial planning to support long-term sustainability. The Finance Manager/Director will also lead and develop the finance team, cultivating a high-performance culture that upholds the hospital’s values of excellence, accountability, and service.

As a key member of the hospital’s leadership team, the Finance Manager/Director plays a critical role in shaping financial strategy, resource allocation, and operational decision-making, enabling Serene Psychiatry Hospital to grow responsibly and continue making a positive impact in the community.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable standards.
• Oversee all general ledger activities, including reconciliations, accruals, and closing processes.
• Monitor and manage the hospital’s financial performance, including revenues, expenses, and cash flow, ensuring financial health and sustainability.
• Develop and manage the budgeting and forecasting process; provide in-depth variance analysis to support executive decision-making.
• Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and ensure efficient follow-up on outstanding claims, especially from insurance providers.
• Ensure strict compliance with all applicable financial laws, tax regulations, and healthcare industry standards.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, providing required documentation and addressing auditor inquiries proactively.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering continuous learning, professional development, and accountability.
• Identify and implement improvements in financial processes, internal controls, and reporting systems to enhance operational efficiency.
• Provide strategic financial insights and support to the CEO, COO, and other senior leaders through ad hoc analysis, business cases, and reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification is highly preferred).
• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP, healthcare revenue cycles, and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in financial and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex projects, and meet tight deadlines with accuracy and professionalism.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to organizational growth and strategic planning.
