Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fixed Asset Management & Recording
Maintain the fixed asset register with accurate capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and disposals.
Verify that all asset-related transactions comply with the company’s capitalization policy and applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS).
Ensure timely recording of new assets and proper categorization.
2. Asset Verification & Tracking
Conduct periodic physical verification and reconciliation of fixed assets.
Coordinate with departments to track asset movement, asset tagging, and inventory of equipment.
Investigate discrepancies and ensure corrective actions.
3. Depreciation & Reporting
Calculate monthly depreciation and reconcile with the general ledger.
Prepare fixed asset schedules and reports for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing.
Support audit requirements by providing clear and accurate documentation.
4. Compliance & Control
Implement and maintain internal controls related to fixed assets.
Ensure all asset activities follow company policies, tax requirements, and regulatory standards.
Assist in the review and improvement of asset management processes.
5. Capital Projects Management
Monitor capital expenditure (CAPEX) and ensure proper project accounting.
Review project documents to ensure assets are capitalized correctly upon completion.
Prepare reports on project costs, budgets, and variances.
6. Coordination & Support
Work closely with procurement, operations, and finance teams for asset-related matters.
Provide support during internal and external audits.
Assist management with ad-hoc reports and financial analysis related to fixed assets.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA) is an advantage.
3–5 years of experience in fixed asset accounting or similar finance role.
Strong understanding of IFRS and asset capitalization rules.
Proficient in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, etc.) and MS Excel.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
High attention to detail and strong sense of?accountability.
