Description

Qualifications:

Education:

Diploma or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, transportation, business administration, or a related field.

Experience:

2–5 years of experience in fleet management, logistics coordination, or a similar role.

Experience with route planning, vehicle tracking systems (e.g., GPS, telematics), and dispatch operations.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., Fleet Complete, Verizon Connect, SAP, Oracle Transportation Management).

Strong computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, and database management).

Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and fleet compliance requirements.

Soft Skills:

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

Attention to detail and a proactive approach to operations.

Valid driver’s license.

Key Responsibilities:

Fleet Management:

Oversee the daily operations of company vehicles, including scheduling, dispatching, and maintenance.

Monitor vehicle performance, fuel usage, and mileage records.

Coordinate repairs and routine maintenance to minimize downtime.

Logistics Coordination:

Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely and cost-effective transport.

Track shipments and deliveries, providing real-time updates to relevant stakeholders.

Liaise with drivers, vendors, and customers to resolve delays or logistical issues.

Compliance and Reporting:

Ensure compliance with local and national transportation regulations.

Maintain accurate records for audits, including vehicle inspections, registrations, and insurance.

Prepare regular reports on fleet performance, delivery timelines, and cost analysis.

Inventory and Asset Control:

Track and manage inventory movement through the logistics chain.

Support warehouse operations when needed, including coordination of inbound/outbound shipments.

Communication and Coordination:

Serve as the point of contact between drivers, dispatchers, and management.

Respond to emergencies or breakdowns and coordinate appropriate responses.

Cost Control:

Identify opportunities for reducing transportation costs without compromising service quality.

Manage fuel cards, tolls, and other operational expenses.
