Job Overview

We are looking for a Garage Supervisor to oversee the operation of our garage, which services and repairs automobiles, trucks, heavy equipment, and machinery. The role involves both administrative and technical supervision of mechanics and helpers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct mechanics in repair/reconditioning of vehicles and heavy equipment
• Prepare work orders, cost estimates, and repair reports
• Inspect ongoing work and provide technical guidance
• Train mechanics in repair and maintenance methods
• Manage spare parts inventory and requisitions
• Schedule vehicle/equipment operations and drivers
• Evaluate staff performance and ensure safety standards

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in automotive/heavy equipment repair, with supervisory experience
• Diploma in Diesel or Automotive Mechanics (additional courses an asset)
• Strong knowledge of shop methods, tools, and internal combustion engines
• Ability to plan, supervise, estimate costs, and maintain records
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
