Description
Job Summary:
The GPS System Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s GPS tracking system for all fleet vehicles and equipment. The role ensures that tracking data is accurate, reliable, and available to support fleet operations and management decisions. The administrator works closely with the Fleet and Operations teams to ensure system performance and proper data usage.
Main Responsibilities:
System Management
- Manage the GPS tracking system and all related user accounts.
- Monitor system performance, device connectivity, and data transmission.
- Perform system updates, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with the vendor for technical support and new device installations.
Data and Reporting
- Validate and review GPS data for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare regular reports on fleet activity, route compliance, idling time, and utilization.
- Maintain data records and ensure proper archiving for reference and audits.
- Provide management with reports and analysis to support decision-making.
System Development and Improvement
- Recommend improvements to enhance tracking accuracy and performance.
- Assist in integrating the GPS system with other internal systems (e.g., maintenance, MD365ERP, or fuel management).
- Document all system settings, procedures, and configurations.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Equivalent technical experience may be considered.
Experience
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in GPS system administration or fleet management systems.
- Experience in handling GPS devices, configurations, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of system integrations with ERP or logistics platforms is an advantage.
