Description

Job Summary:
- The painter will be responsible for performing a full range of painting activities, including surface preparation such as sanding, degreasing and masking.
- The role involves coating of various surfaces according to required specifications, mixing paints as per label instructions and applying them using approved method and equipment.
- The painter must ensure all the tasks meet ARM’s quality & safety standards.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate painting equipment safely and correctly.
- Read labels and mix paint according to manufacturer instructions.
- Transport supplies (thinner, paint, etc.) from storage to paint booths.
- Verify that all parts to be painted are clean, properly prepared and taped in accordance with applicable paint procedure.
- Abide by ARM’s scheduled work assignments and standards.
- Comply with required training programs (Haz-Mat/Environmental) related to paint operations.
- Ensure good housekeeping in work as well as storage areas.
- Ensure the proper job has been marked and identified on all parts before painting.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience Required:
- Schooling With 3-5 years of similar work experience OR ITI or Diploma with 2-3 Years of similar work experience.

Key Competencies & Skills:
- Knowledge of industrial painting techniques (spray, brush, roller).
- Surface preparation skills (sanding, grinding, cleaning, masking).
- Ability to mix paints and coatings according to specifications.
- Understanding of paint properties, viscosity, drying time, and application methods.
- Familiarity with airless spray equipment and painting tools.
- Ability to read and follow work orders, and technical data sheets.
- Basic maintenance of painting equipment and tools.
- Knowledge of industrial coating systems (primer, intermediate, topcoat).
- Understanding of safety procedures in paint booths and hazardous areas.
- Knowledge of PPE usage and material handling.
- Ability to check surface cleanliness, profile, and coating thickness.
- Knowledge of quality standards such as DFT measurement, WFT measurement and paint curing.
- Ability to perform visual inspections and correct paint defects

- Quality Assurance: Carry out all duties in accordance with the QMS procedures and Work Instructions.
- Contribute to general improvements in the quality and key activities of the department/area.
- Training: Participate in training where required.
- Health, Safety and Environment: Carry out all duties safely and in accordance with the Health & Safety Policy, Employee
Handbook, procedures, training, and instructions.
- To be safety conscious and report any safety hazards to the HSE representative.
