Description
Junior Accountant in Saudi Arabia supports the finance department with day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with local regulations such as ZATCA requirements and VAT (15%) reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Record daily financial transactions (sales, purchases, expenses, receipts)
Prepare and post journal entries
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Reconcile bank statements and supplier/customer accounts
Prepare VAT reports and support filing through Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA)
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
Assist with payroll entries and employee reimbursements
Maintain proper filing of financial documents (physical & digital)
Support external/internal audits
Assist in budgeting and cost control activities
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
0–2 years of experience (fresh graduates are often accepted)
Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Odoo)
Good understanding of Saudi VAT regulations
Strong Excel skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Basic English communication skills (Arabic preferred in many companies)
