We are currently seeking an experienced and skilled individual to join our team as a Sushi and Cold Foods Chef. The primary responsibility of the Sushi and Cold Foods Chef will be to prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes and other cold food items according to established recipes, techniques, and plating standards. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in sushi preparation, a deep understanding of sushi ingredients, and a passion for creating visually stunning and flavorful dishes.
Prepare a wide range of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, and specialty rolls, using traditional sushi techniques.
Create visually appealing and delicious cold food items such as salads, appetizers, and cold seafood dishes.
Ensure the freshness and quality of all sushi and cold food ingredients by proper handling, storage, and rotation.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new sushi and cold food menu items, considering seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
Maintain a clean and organized sushi station, including proper storage and maintenance of sushi knives and equipment.
Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and hygienic work environment.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques, including knife skills and sushi rolling.
Monitor inventory levels of sushi and cold food ingredients and communicate with appropriate personnel for timely restocking.
