Description

Cleaning responsibilities include maintaining general cleanliness through tasks like sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors and surfaces. Other duties involve sanitizing high-touch areas, managing and disposing of waste, restocking supplies in restrooms, cleaning windows, and performing light maintenance. Cleaners also follow safety guidelines, report maintenance issues, and may specialize in specific environments like homes, offices, or healthcare facilities.
General Cleaning Tasks
Floors:
Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming carpets and hard floors.
Surfaces:
Dusting and wiping down desks, countertops, shelves, and other surfaces.
Windows & Glass:
Cleaning windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces to remove smudges and dirt.
Sanitation and Hygiene
Sanitizing:
Disinfecting high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and bathroom fixtures to prevent the spread of germs.
Restrooms:
Thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing toilets, sinks, and counters, as well as ensuring they are stocked with toiletries.
Waste Management and Restocking
Waste Disposal:
Emptying trash cans and recycling bins, ensuring waste is disposed of properly.
Supply Management:
Restocking cleaning supplies, paper towels, soap, and toilet paper.
Maintenance and Safety
Maintenance Reporting:
Reporting broken fixtures, maintenance issues, or safety hazards to supervisors.
Minor Repairs:
Sometimes performing minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing toilet seats or fixing light fixtures.
Safety Compliance:
Adhering to safety guidelines and using cleaning products correctly, including diluting chemicals as needed.
Specialized Tasks
Deep Cleaning:
Performing monthly or periodic deep cleaning and disinfection of facilities.
