Job Description:
A local school is seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality desserts, pastries, and confections, catering for school events, and developing new recipes tailored to our students’ and staff’s tastes. The Pastry Chef will ensure the bakery section of the kitchen operates efficiently, following health and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and design a variety of desserts, pastries, and other baked goods
• Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings, etc.
• Monitor stocks for baking ingredients and make appropriate orders
• Ensure excellent presentation of baked goods in line with the school’s standards
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
• Manage baking equipment, ensuring proper maintenance
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, baker, or similar role
• Experience with ingredient sourcing and kitchen inventory management
• A keen eye for detail and creativity
• Excellent understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
• Certification in Culinary Arts, Baking, or Pastry (preferred)
