Description

Job Summary:

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the organization's procurement activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery of goods and services essential for operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement procurement strategies to secure optimal value. Identify suppliers, evaluate bids, negotiate contracts, and foster long-term partnerships.

Vendor Management: Cultivate and maintain supplier relationships. Evaluate performance, resolve issues, and negotiate favorable terms.

Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequacy while minimizing excess. Implement controls to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.

Cost Control: Analyze procurement costs to identify savings opportunities. Execute initiatives such as bulk purchasing and vendor consolidation.

Quality Assurance: Ensure that purchased goods and services meet specified quality standards. Collaborate on quality requirements and conduct supplier audits as needed.

Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to regulations and internal policies. Stay updated on industry standards.

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of purchasing professionals. Assign tasks, provide guidance, and monitor performance to achieve departmental goals.

Budgeting: Develop and manage the procurement budget. Forecast expenses, track spending, and report variances.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate procurement risks, developing contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies.

Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance procurement processes. Implement best practices and technology solutions to increase efficiency.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the Supermarket/C-Store industry.
Strong negotiation skills and relationship-building capabilities.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite.
Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards.
Leadership and team management skills.
Proficient in English and Arabic.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
