Description
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Sushi Chef to prepare high quality sushi dishes, maintain food safety standards, and deliver an exceptional dining experience. The ideal candidate must have strong knife skills, experience handling raw fish, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and assemble various sushi dishes including nigiri, maki, sashimi, and specialty rolls.
• Inspect and ensure the freshness and quality of fish, seafood, vegetables, and other ingredients.
• Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards, especially when handling raw fish.
• Manage sushi station inventory, place supply orders, and rotate stock to reduce waste.
• Keep all tools, knives, and equipment sterilized and clean before use.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely order preparation.
• Interact with customers when required, answer questions, and accommodate special requests.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in upscale sushi restaurants.
• Creativity in developing new sushi dishes.
• Knowledge of Japanese cuisine and traditional sushi techniques.
