The Transportation Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of transportation activities, ensuring the efficient movement of heavy trucks and containers from ports to their destinations. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of transportation logistics and compliance regulations.

Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Management:
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee transportation schedules and routes for heavy trucks.
• Monitor and optimize fleet utilization and driver assignments to ensure timely delivery of containers.
• Resolve logistical challenges to maintain smooth operations.
2. Team Supervision:
• Recruit, train, and manage drivers and transportation staff.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
3. Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure all transportation activities comply with local, national, and international regulations, including safety and environmental standards.
• Implement and enforce driver safety programs and vehicle maintenance schedules.
4. Fleet Management:
• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy trucks to minimize downtime.
• Monitor fuel consumption and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation management, preferably in containerized cargo or heavy truck operations.

Skills and Competencies:
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and fleet management software.
• Ability to analyze data and create actionable strategies.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.

Technical Knowledge:
• Proficient in transportation management systems (TMS) and route planning tools.
• Familiarity with heavy truck operations and container logistics.
