Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Welding Inspector to ensure welding activities meet quality standards and comply with applicable codes and client specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience in inspecting welding processes, materials, and workmanship in industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect welding processes and workmanship according to applicable codes (e.g., AWS, ASME Section IX).
Monitor welding activities on-site to ensure compliance with approved procedures.
Review welding procedure specifications (WPS) and welder qualifications.
Perform visual inspections and coordinate with NDT teams (UT, RT, MT, PT).
Verify materials and equipment used in welding operations.
Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality control procedures.
Collaborate with QA/QC team and project management.
Qualifications & Certifications
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent certification is required.
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred.
Knowledge of welding codes and standards (AWS, ASME, API) essential.
Experience with NDT methods is an advantage.
Skills Required
Strong knowledge of welding techniques and inspection methods.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding procedure specifications.
Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work effectively on industrial sites.
