Description
We are seeking a skilled Metal Denter with strong experience in automotive dent repair to join our professional auto body shop.
The ideal candidate is proficient in repairing dents, creases, and body damage on vehicles without replacing panels when possible.
You will play a key role in restoring vehicles to factory specifications using traditional metalworking techniques and modern tools.
Key Responsibilities
Assess vehicle damage and determine the best repair method for dents, dings, hail damage, and minor collisions.
Perform paintless dent repair (PDR) and traditional metal denting techniques using hammers, dollies, pullers, glue pull systems, and specialized tools.
Repair dents on various panels including doors, hoods, fenders, roofs, trunks, and quarter panels.
Use stud welders, slide hammers, and dent pullers effectively.
Blend and finish repaired areas to prepare for painting.
Work closely with painters and body technicians to ensure seamless repairs.
Maintain accurate repair documentation and photos for insurance claims.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Stay updated with new dent repair tools, techniques, and industry standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Metal Denter, Auto Body Technician, or PDR Technician (minimum 2–5 years preferred).
Strong knowledge of automotive body panels and metal types (steel, aluminum).
Ability to repair both minor door dings and complex multi-point dents.
Experience with Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) is highly desirable.
Certification in auto body repair or PDR (e.g., I-CAR, ASE, or equivalent) is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret repair estimates and damage reports.
Good eye for detail and high standard for quality workmanship.
Physical fitness and ability to work in various positions (bending, kneeling, overhead).
Skills Required
Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Proficiency with dent repair tools and equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills for complex dent repairs.
Ability to work efficiently under time pressure while maintaining quality.
Basic knowledge of automotive refinishing processes.
