Role Overview:

The Assistant Waiter/Runner supports the front-of-house service team by ensuring food and beverages move efficiently and correctly from the kitchen to the guest table.

Working closely with waiters, captains, and kitchen staff, this role helps maintain the seamless, elevated guest experience expected in a fine dining setting through attentive, well-timed, and polished service.

Job Description

• Deliver food and beverage orders promptly from the kitchen and bar to the correct table, verifying accuracy against the ticket before service.
• Assist waiters and captains with table setup, clearing, and resetting between courses to maintain a polished dining atmosphere.
• Maintain awareness of table numbers, seat positions, and course sequencing to ensure dishes are served to the correct guest without delay.
• Support mise en place duties, including polishing silverware and glassware, folding linens, and preparing service stations before service.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with kitchen staff to relay special requests, allergies, or timing adjustments.
• Uphold fine dining service etiquette, including proper carrying technique, silent service, and discretion around guests.
• Assist with replenishing bread, water, and condiments, and promptly clear used plates and glassware.
• Follow all hygiene, food safety, and grooming standards in line with restaurant and Saudi regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a hospitality or culinary certificate is an advantage.
• Prior experience as a runner, busser, or waiter assistant in a fine dining or upscale restaurant is preferred.
