The Chief Accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s overall accounting functions, ensuring compliance with international accounting standards, local laws, and internal policies. This role involves supervising the accounting team, preparing accurate financial reports, managing audits, and supporting strategic decision-making by providing financial insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage all accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and General Ledger.
Ensure timely preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Maintain compliance with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements for management.
Coordinate with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
Supervise, train, and mentor the accounting team.
Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial transactions.
Support management in financial planning, risk management, and cost control.
Ensure accurate and timely closing of accounts.
Implement process improvements and automation in financial reporting and control systems.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or MBA is an advantage).
Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, CA, or ACCA preferred.
Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
Strong knowledge of IFRS and local tax laws.
Proficiency in ERP/accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar).
Advanced skills in MS Excel and financial analysis.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
