Description
We are looking for a Dewatering and Shoring Manager who can oversee the strategic growth, engineering design, project management, and successful execution of all dewatering and structural shoring projects. This role requires a dynamic leader who can seamlessly balance Business Development to secure new contracts, rigorous Project Management to ensure profitability, and hands-on Execution and Control to guarantee safety and technical precision on site.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Estimation
1. Identify and pursue new market opportunities, clients, and projects within the civil engineering, infrastructure, and construction sectors.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with main contractors, developers, consultants, and government bodies.
3. Lead the preparation of technical and commercial proposals. Review ground investigation reports to propose cost-effective, winning shoring and dewatering strategies.
4. Present engineering solutions to prospective clients, demonstrating the company’s technical capability and competitive edge.
2. Project Management & Engineering
1. Define project scope, resource requirements, budgets, and timelines for multiple concurrent shoring and dewatering sites.
2. Collaborate with design teams to review and approve shoring designs (e.g., soldier piles, secant walls, sheet piling) and dewatering system layouts (e.g., deep wells, wellpoints).
3. Review contract terms, manage variations, and handle claims or disputes effectively to protect the company's commercial interests.
4. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, sub-contractors, and internal cross-functional teams.
3. Execution, Control & Operations
1. Oversee the installation, operation, and decommissioning of dewatering systems and shoring structures, ensuring compliance with approved drawings and methods.
2. Monitor project expenditures against budgets. Implement KPIs to track progress, optimize pump efficiencies, and minimize downtime.
3. Establish and monitor geotechnical and structural instrumentation (e.g., inclinometers, piezometers) to control ground movement and water drawdown impacts on surrounding structures.
4. Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental standards on-site, particularly regarding deep excavations, confined spaces, and water discharge regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
Requirement Description
Education Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a closely related field. (Master’s or PMP is a plus).
Experience Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in geotechnical works, specifically deep excavation, shoring systems, and groundwater control. At least 5 years in a managerial role in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Technical Skills Deep understanding of soil mechanics, hydrology, and structural shoring types. Familiarity with specialized software (e.g., PLAXIS, WALLAP, or dewatering modeling software) is highly desirable.
Soft Skills Strong commercial acumen, exceptional negotiation skills, leadership capabilities, and the ability to solve complex engineering problems under pressure.
