Description

Role Brief:

We are seeking a motivated Junior Cook to join our caf? team in Riyadh. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills in a fast-paced caf? environment while working alongside experienced kitchen staff. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food preparation, committed to maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness, and eager to learn and grow within our kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and cook caf? menu items including sandwiches, salads, breakfast dishes, and light meals according to established recipes and quality standards.

2. Assist senior kitchen staff with food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and preparing sauces and dressings.

3. Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, cooking equipment, and kitchen areas throughout service periods.

4. Monitor food stock levels and inform the head chef when ingredients need to be reordered or replenished.

5. Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper food storage, temperature control, and sanitation procedures in accordance with Saudi health standards.

6. Plate and garnish dishes to ensure attractive presentation that meets caf? standards before serving to customers.

7. Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries, checking for quality and accuracy of orders.

8. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, ovens, mixers, and food processors.

9. Support the kitchen team during peak service hours by working efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards.

10. Participate in regular kitchen cleaning duties including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.

11. Learn and adapt to menu changes, seasonal specials, and new recipes as introduced by management.

12. Communicate effectively with kitchen team members and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service operations.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a caf?, restaurant, or hospitality setting.

2. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen safety practices, with food handler's certificate preferred.
