Position Overview

The Land Surveyor is responsible for conducting accurate land surveys, preparing site layouts, verifying levels, and ensuring all construction works are executed based on correct coordinates, elevations, and dimensions. The role involves working closely with engineers and site teams to support civil and structural works.

Key Responsibilities
1. Surveying & Site Setting Out

Conduct topographic surveys, boundary surveys, and land measurements.

Set out gridlines, foundations, roads, utilities, and structures as per approved drawings.

Use Total Station, GPS, Auto Level, and Laser Level for precise measurements.

Provide accurate coordinates, elevations, and benchmarks for site teams.

2. Verification & Monitoring

Cross-check setting-out work performed by subcontractors and teams.

Verify levels and alignment during excavation, concrete works, blockwork, and finishing activities.

Identify discrepancies and report them to the site engineer or project manager.

3. Drawings & As-Built Documentation

Review architectural, civil, and structural drawings for accuracy.

Prepare as-built drawings, survey sketches, and measurement reports.

Maintain and update survey records, logs, and data files.

4. Instrument Handling & Maintenance

Operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment such as:

Total Stations

GPS / GNSS

Auto Levels

Laser Levels

Ensure all instruments are functioning properly and are securely maintained.

5. Coordination

Coordinate with project engineers, civil teams, subcontractors, QA/QC, and consultants.

Provide surveying support during inspections and approval processes.

Assist in resolving technical issues related to levels or coordinates.

6. Compliance & Safety

Ensure work complies with project standards, specifications, and local regulations.

Follow safety procedures and maintain safe practices on site.

Skills & Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field.

3–7 years of experience as a Land Surveyor in construction, infrastructure, or roadworks.

Strong proficiency with Total Station, GPS, Auto Level, and surveying software.

Good understanding of topographic surveys, contour maps, and site leveling.

Ability to interpret civil/structural drawings accurately.

Strong attention to detail, mathematical skills, and accuracy.

Good communication and teamwork abilities.
