Description
The Senior Barista is responsible for delivering exceptional coffee and beverage quality while leading barista operations on shift. This role supports training, maintains service standards, and ensures a welcoming customer experience while assisting management with daily caf? operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, espresso, and specialty beverages consistently
Lead shifts by coordinating barista tasks and ensuring smooth workflow
Train, mentor, and support junior baristas on drink preparation, equipment use, and customer service
Maintain coffee machines, grinders, and workstations; report technical issues promptly
Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and food handling standards
Monitor product quality, portion control, and presentation
Deliver excellent customer service and handle customer feedback professionally
Assist with inventory checks, stock rotation, and waste control
Support opening and closing procedures, including cash handling when required
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as a barista, with senior or lead experience preferred
Strong knowledge of coffee brewing methods, espresso extraction, and milk texturing
Leadership and coaching skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and consistency in quality
Preferred Qualifications
Specialty coffee training or certifications
Experience with POS systems
Knowledge of latte art and menu development
Working Conditions
Flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
Standing for extended periods and handling hot equipment
